Absolutely love this song. Worked in provincial park (Canada) in the late 60s and every Saturday night we had a camp fire sing-along (hootenanny, we used to call them). I was the leader and this song was one of our most-requested. Along with "Lemon Tree" by Trini Lopez, "Micheal, Row Your Boat Ashore" by many artists, and "Koombaya", etc. Don't think I can play them anymore - arthitis, ya' know. wonderful memories!

I add my condolences! As a young man working in a summer job in a park in Saskatchewan (Canada), and leading the campfire sing-song, I sang their songs every Friday and Saturday night all summer. Loved it! So sorry.

It was Nick Reynolds who, in describing the requirements for the songs the trio chose to record, said "They must have a basic intelligent thought and they must be in good taste." Truer words have rarely been spoken. We will miss you Nick, Dave, and John. These songs shall never pass this way again.

I never knew till I was 15 or so, why they called my dad DOOLEY, His names Tom, he never hurt anyone though, just a nickname!
