maybe chargers but not cobra stangs 99-2004 392 hp and certainly not my S197 Stang GT 2.6 liter kenne bell supercharger, 3000 Stall torque converter GT500 throttle body, aluminum drive shaft, 1/4 mile 11.20 at 118 mph ...the trans am is dead / archives my friend car gallery material

99-01 Cobra's were NOT supercharged. They only had 300HP. The 03-04 Cobra's had a supercharger and was close to the 395HP mark. All the car review magazines tested the 03-04 Cobras and the best they could do is 12.9's in the quarter mile. Stock LS1 F-Bodies do that very same time.

first and formost as a stang owner im all for the stang...but to be honest, for a 4 door heavy car like the charger it did get desent times running on 20's, but in all honesty, both cars were running a little slower. get some drag radials on the stang and you will hit low 8's high 7's. i also think the charger got a horrible launch, driver error, its got more in it.

no doubt the stang one the charger weighs so much more than the stang... so all u guys who beat off to hemi's....

actually the 99-01 cobras had 320hp the 03-04 had 390 but were actually closer to 430 and they were capable of 12.4 stock according to muscle mustangs drag test. they completely destroy stock f-body cars although the 99-01 were slower

There are some design cues from that era on the new car. But there not obvious. They clearly didn't design it just to take charger fans down memory lane like they are did with the challenger.
