If u knew Staind at ALL...THIS is def not their sound.....and yes...10 Years have been around for quite some time as well...so, I don't think they are copying any one...I love Wasteland and Through The Iris, and I was listening to both of those songs a while ago. Back then, he had dreads....like....Counting Crows dreads......but the voice is still spectacular.

The song means: Someone who has it all, yet is so addicted to destroying oneself. The signs were clear, but power and fame disguise the truth. In the video it leans towards Alcahol as the problem. Fame and booze. Not owning up to your choice. Cutting your hair and running away to conceal your way of life.
That's just what I see, you may see it from another angle.
